"Farther Than I
Meant to Go,
Longer Than I Meant to Stay"
By Tiffany Warren
Author Testimony:
My intention in writing Farther Than I Meant to Go, Longer
Than I Meant to Stay is to minister to single and
saved women. So many of my sisters in Christ have chosen
to live for God and leave their love lives in His hands. I
was inspired to write the story when a friend of mine got married
for the first time at the age of fifty (to a good and saved brother). I
just want to encourage someone and let them know that, "my
God will supply all your need..." (Phil 4:19) and that even
if a mate never materializes, "His grace is sufficient for
thee..." (2 Corinthians 12:9).
As always, a lot of prayer and study went into the writing of
this book. I believe that God led me to the story of Rizpah,
whose story is in 2 Samuel 21. She was a woman who overcame
the sensational grief of losing her husband Saul and her two sons. Her
tears and outward expression of mourning moved King David to give
her sons a proper burial and lifted famine from the land.
Rizpah's story along with the story of Rachel and Leah is used
in Farther Than I Meant to Go, Longer Than I Meant to Stay to
address the topics of grieving and low self-esteem. It is
my hope that this story not only entertains, but uplifts and encourages
all of my sistas in Christ.
